Held in the heart of the capital, Thimphu Tshechu is one of Bhutan’s most vibrant and anticipated festivals. Celebrated annually in the courtyard of Tashichho Dzong, this three-day event brings together thousands of devotees and visitors, dressed in their finest traditional attire. The festival was first introduced in the 17th century by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the unifier of Bhutan, and later enhanced by the 4th Desi, Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye.
